Residents affected by devastating storms and floods are encouraged to contact their energy retailers for assistance.
Energy Ombudsman Barry Adams said it was important people are given help to alleviate their problems.

AGL has put in place temporary arrangements for
AGL will waive all fees including contract termination, disconnection and reconnection for affected customers. This will ensure customers do not incur any service charges while their properties are being repaired. AGL will also consider payment extensions for customers suffering hardship. Origin is actively supporting customers affected by the recent storms.
Retail General Manager, Phil Craig, said "We understand that many of our customers are going through a difficult period."

Mr Adams also encouraged other energy retailers to help their customers facing hardship after the storms.
