Complaints about home suite products such as air conditioners, hot water systems and home electrician services offered by electricity retailers are subject to general trading practices under the Federal Government's Trade Practices Act 1974 and fall under the jurisdiction of the Office of Fair Trading.
The Department of Mines and Energy may also be able to assist with disputes regarding these matters.
You have to give the retailer/service provider a reasonable opportunity to resolve your complaint before contacting the Office of Fair Trading or Department of Mines and Energy.
